New Hanover County N.C. Commissioners pass resolution supporting Arizona immigration law

New Hanover County Board of Commissioners on Monday sent a strong message on illegal immigration by passing a resolution supporting Arizona’s controversial new immigration law.

County commissioners who supported the resolution said the majority of voters they had been in contact with supported the resolution.

County Commissioner Bobby Greer, who introduced the resolution, said he wanted to pass the measure because Gaston County had already endorsed the Arizona bill and had asked for other counties’ support.

“Let’s make sure that we enforce the federal laws,” he said.

Commissioner Ted Davis, a Republican, said those who are here illegally take jobs from citizens and use up public resources.

“America is a land of immigrants, but we know they are here legally,” he said. “Those individuals who are in this country illegally throw everything in the face of those who have done it the legal way.”St. Charles County in Missouri had also passed a nonbinding resolution similar to New Hanover County’s. I have some good advice for all you illegal immigrants, move to Hyde Park Blvd, Chicago where Obama maybe would allow you to

camp out on his lawn with him protecting you it would be safer than any place in America to keep from being arrested for the crime of being in America illegally.  Obama has not secured the American/Mexico border and brought a suit against Arizona’s illegal immigrants law so maybe he would like to have illegal immigrants without jobs living around his house.  The federal raids on companies getting illegal immigrants fired and not deporting them brings up the question of where or how they will get food and a roof over their head. The only problem I see with illegal immigrants moving into Hyde Park Blvd, Chicago is that they would not let you live in tents, or 20 people in a two bedroom house. But this President could care less about how illegal immigrants live in our area as long as it’s not his home.

Pharmaceutical giant Pfizer Inc. to slash 6,000 jobs

Pharmaceutical giant Pfizer Inc. on Tuesday announced that it would shut down eight manufacturing plants around the world, scale back production at several other sites, and slash 6,000 jobs in total in its ongoing restructuring effort to cut down on payroll expense.

The plants that will close include those in Puerto Rico, Ireland, Virginia, and New York. Operations at several other locations such as Sanford, N.C., and Havant, U.K., will be scaled back.

In a statement, Pfizer’s Manufacturing Director Nat Ricciardi called the job cuts “critical to our efforts to remain competitive.” SOURCE

People still losing jobs while Obama and the democrats expect these same unemployed workers to give them their vote in November 2010 and in 2012!

Democrats were thrilled by the long length of Barack Obama’s coattails. Creigh Deeds would be a lot more thrilled today if he could just step off.Mr. Deeds is the Democratic state senator running for governor of Virginia, and while he’s at it, running away from his commander in chief. It ought to worry Democrats that their top recruit for the year already views their Washington agenda as a liability. It ought to worry Mr. Deeds that there seems no escape.

When the Democrat tries to make the race about local roads, local taxes, local jobs and local education, Mr. McDonnell has, with laser-like precision, forced him instead to defend what his party’s cap-and-trade legislation would do to Virginia’s economy, defend what Washington’s health-care agenda would do to Virginia senior citizens, or defend the February stimulus that has not created jobs.

The American people are tired of the Democrats big spending and taxing policies and is letting Virginia Democrat Creigh know it by not supporting him. People want a change in Washington and the only way to do that is put congress back into a balance body and not control by Reid or Nancy Pelosi.
