Obama Goes Swimming, Scientist See Serious Health Problems


Obama goes swimming in Florida and tells the American people the Gulf of Mexico water is safe. I guess he’s not much of a scientist now is he or he will do anything for a vote.

Aug. 16, 2010: The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico poses serious health risks for the people who are working to clean it up and others who venture into the coastal area, scientists say in a commentary in The Journal of the American Medical Association.

Some components of oil called volatile organic compounds may cause respiratory irritation and nervous system disorders, according to the commentary by Gina M. Solomon, MD, MPH, and Sarah Janssen, MD, PhD, MPH, both of the University of California, San Francisco.

Skin contact with oil and dispersants may cause dermatitis and increase the risk of skin infections, the authors say.

Those at risk include fishermen, cleanup workers, volunteers, and members of communities along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, the authors write.

According to the commentary, seafood, including fish and shellfish, may become contaminated by hydrocarbons from the oil. Trace amounts of cadmium, mercury, and lead in oil can accumulate in the tissues of fish over time, posing a health hazard with ingestion. Keep reading at the SOURCE

Wonder why Obama picked Florida for he and his daughter to go swimming? Could it be to try and get votes for the democrats in Florida? Looks as if Obama will do or say anything to get votes. Why didn’t he go to the main area of the damage such as the Louisiana Beaches? No! He picked Florida the least damaged area!

WOULD YOU GO SWIMMING IN THE GULF OF MEXICO AFTER READING THE ABOVE, JUST BECAUSE OBAMA SAID IT WAS SAFE? WOULD YOU?

Oil Spill Claims Money to Illegals?

Kenneth Feinberg, who will administer the claims process for individuals and businesses seeking compensation from the $20 billion fund established by BP, says he will follow federal immigration and tax laws when deciding the eligibility of claimants, according to a report by CNSNews.com

I had to read the above report a few times because I am in contact with a friend that came off unemployment to go to Florida and help with cleaning up the oil from the beaches, he is not a Mexican, he’s a citizen of The United States! The group he went with has been put up in a motel with BP paying for their food and rooms. Now the down side of this…most of these workers has not worked going on 4 weeks now, but some of the Mexicans that are in this motel has been working and many other Mexicans were sleeping outside on the lawn of the Motel without food. From what I was told the motel called the police and the manager of these Mexicans was told to get them food and a room to sleep in, which is what happen!
I also was informed that these Mexicans said it was easy to get driver licenses and other papers to prove that they where in America legal for only $100.00, one was said to have shown the $100.00 legal papers that he had picked up that day,  so tell me if it’s that easy to get legal papers then how can Kenneth Feinberg know if in fact he’s not paying illegal Mexicans with BP claim funds?   Also why did they start the Mexicans working first? 

Maybe some of the news people should get around to these Motels and find out just what’s going on!   These people are getting $25.00 a day each  to eat on and their rooms paid for, but have not worked for going on 4 weeks….

BP Oil Spill: Florida Forced to beg Obama for Oil Skimmers


Why is it that Florida has to beg Barack Obama for skimmers to catch the oil before it reaches the beaches? Why the slow actions by Obama? Is he using the BP OIL Spill to push his agenda to pass his Cap and Tax Bill…this voter sure thinks so! Is this the actions we expect of a President? The White House says “don’t let a crisis go to waste” and Obama sure isn’t trying to keep our shore line from being damaged by the oil. What up with this President? All questions I just have to ask!

Sen. LeMieux to Obama Administration: Where Are Florida’s Skimmers?

U.S. Senator George LeMieux (R-FL), along with Senators Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Richard Burr (R-NC), today sent a letter to President Obama requesting clarification on the status of foreign vessels taking part in Gulf oil spill clean up efforts. In the letter, the senators address the confusion surrounding the Jones Act waiver requirement. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection states there are only 20 oil skimming vessels currently operating off the coast of Florida.

“We are still receiving reports of foreign-flagged vessels being turned away or their offers of assistance hanging in limbo. That should not be the case,” LeMieux asked. “ Admiral Thad Allen is reporting that vessels do not need a waiver to participate in cleanup efforts, yet skimmers are apparently going unused. There is a breakdown of communication and it is critically important the situation get fixed and we see an armada of skimmers at work.”

In the letter to the president, the senators specifically question if there have been any response-appropriate vessels offered by foreign nations that have been turned down by the Administration. They also ask the Administration to commit to an expedited waiver system for all potentially useful foreign vessels. Finally, they encourage the Administration to be proactive in soliciting aid and assets from foreign nations where appropriate. SOURCE
