Obama Goes Swimming, Scientist See Serious Health Problems


Obama goes swimming in Florida and tells the American people the Gulf of Mexico water is safe. I guess he’s not much of a scientist now is he or he will do anything for a vote.

Aug. 16, 2010: The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico poses serious health risks for the people who are working to clean it up and others who venture into the coastal area, scientists say in a commentary in The Journal of the American Medical Association.

Some components of oil called volatile organic compounds may cause respiratory irritation and nervous system disorders, according to the commentary by Gina M. Solomon, MD, MPH, and Sarah Janssen, MD, PhD, MPH, both of the University of California, San Francisco.

Skin contact with oil and dispersants may cause dermatitis and increase the risk of skin infections, the authors say.

Those at risk include fishermen, cleanup workers, volunteers, and members of communities along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, the authors write.

According to the commentary, seafood, including fish and shellfish, may become contaminated by hydrocarbons from the oil. Trace amounts of cadmium, mercury, and lead in oil can accumulate in the tissues of fish over time, posing a health hazard with ingestion. Keep reading at the SOURCE

Wonder why Obama picked Florida for he and his daughter to go swimming? Could it be to try and get votes for the democrats in Florida? Looks as if Obama will do or say anything to get votes. Why didn’t he go to the main area of the damage such as the Louisiana Beaches? No! He picked Florida the least damaged area!

Obama’s Drilling Ban Could Cost 140,000 jobs – Obama Presses Jobless Benefits Extension

Obama Presses Republicans on Jobless Benefits Extension at the same time he’s killing 140,000 jobs on the Gulf Coast by stopping the Gulf of Mexico oil drilling. What does Obama want, on one hand he says he creating jobs and on the other hand he’s killing jobs and wanting workers to go on unemployment.  Obama allowing more illegal Immigrats into our Country to take jobs away from Americans.  A brainless  president from this point of view!  Where you say he attended school?

The Obama administration last week issued a revised plan to halt deep-water offshore drilling after a federal appeals court struck down the original six-month moratorium.
Industry officials and Gulf Coast lawmakers say local workers can’t take that kind of hit and that by the time the ban is over, some companies will have moved their business overseas. SOURCE

Obama Presses Republicans on Jobless Benefits Extension

President Obama on Monday pressed Republican senators to drop their opposition to a jobless benefits extension, accusing them of advancing the “misguided notion” that unemployment aid discourages people from looking for work.

“They’re not looking for a handout. They desperately want to work,” Obama said. SOURCE

Seep has been detected, Government wants cap removed allowing oil spilling into Gulf 3 more days

Looks as if Obama will have to stay on his golf vacation a few more days! What’s happening with those two relief wells, leave the dam cap on until the relief wells can start releasing the pressure. Watch the pressure and if it keeps falling then and only then should you force BP to remove the cap that they have worked so hard to install. Obama it will totally be your baby all alone if you have the cap removed….is that what you want?

Pilloried for nearly three months as it tried repeatedly to stop the leak, BP PLC capped the nearly mile-deep well Thursday and wants to keep it that way. The government’s plan, however, is to eventually pipe oil to the surface, which would ease pressure on the fragile well but would require up to three more days of oil spilling into the Gulf.

“No one associated with this whole activity wants to see any more oil flow into the Gulf of Mexico,” Doug Suttles, BP’s chief operating officer, said Sunday. “Right now we don’t have a target to return the well to flow.”

But retired Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen, the Obama administration’s spill response chief, said a seep had been detected a distance from busted oil well, and he demanded that BP provide results of further testing of the seabed Sunday night. Allen didn’t say what was coming from the seep. SOURCE
