Roman Catholic leaders Urge National Fight Against Abortion in Obamacare Bills

Roman Catholic leaders are stepping up their fight against the Obama administration’s healthcare plans, urging their faithful nationwide to contact legislators to strongly protest abortion provisions in Democratic bills.

Catholics who attended Mass Sunday in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, for example, found in their weekly bulletins a call to action from Cardinal Justin Rigali, head of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops pro-life committee. The archdiocese, one of the largest in the nation, serves 1.45 million Catholics. Read More

A number of black evangelical leaders are rising up as a new voice in the conservative movement traditionally dominated by white Protestants.

Their centerpiece agendas are abortion and same-sex “marriage” – the same two key social issues emphasized by most conservative evangelicals.

But unlike the typical white evangelical Christian that is most likely part of the conservative wing of the Republican party, these African American leaders may be card-carrying Democrats but willing to switch over to the Republican side if their conservative values are addressed.

I think blacks and whites all see what is happening to their country and don’t like what they see. We’re all Americans and don’t want to become a socialist nation. We all still have our good morals!

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, speaking at anti-abortion group’s dinner, criticized President Barack Obama for supporting abortion rights and challenged the idea that unplanned pregnancies are a nuisance that can be solved by abortion.

Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, spoke to an overflow crowd organizers said numbered 3,000 at the Vanderburgh County Right to Life banquet Thursday night.

Some in the crowd wore white “Palin 2012″ T-shirts. Earlier, GOP National Chairman Michael Steele described her as one of the party’s standard bearers, though he said it was too early to judge what her standing would be in three years.

Palin also took Obama to task for his support of abortion rights and embryonic stem-cell research.

She said deciding when babies get human rights isn’t above her pay grade — a reference to Obama’s response to a question from the Rev. Rick Warren last year. The Democrat said such questions were above his pay grade.

Palin received at least two standing ovations. After the speech, she addressed an overflow crowd in another room and thanked them for their support. Read More

In your opinion will Sarah Palin have a chance to become president in 2012?   I think the Gov. would be a better leader than Obama!
