Los Angeles City Council voted Thursday to eliminate 4,000 municipal jobs

The council instructed “all departments and offices of the city, including elected offices, to expedite the elimination of 4,000 positions by any means necessary, including layoffs.” Under the council’s instruction, the positions must be identified within 45 days and scheduled for elimination as of July 1, the beginning of the next fiscal year.
Eliminating 4,000 positions does not necessarily mean 4,000 people will be put out on the street. Some workers may lose their current positions but be transferred to other departments and offices that do not draw salaries from the depleted general fund. SOURCE

Does this make any sense to anyone outside of California? Didn’t Obama say he had saved all these jobs?

“I’ll do everything I can to give him the boot,” said Mayor Oscar Goodman

Goodman is still smarting from comments Obama made suggesting that people saving money for college shouldn’t blow in it Las Vegas.

The comments sparked a firestorm of criticism as the city struggles to find its footing amid a two-year meltdown of foreclosures, bankruptcies and unemployment.

Goodman has said that Obama is no friend to Vegas and would not be welcomed there if he visits.

“I’ll do everything I can to give him the boot,” Goodman said. “This president is a real slow learner.”

Goodman told KTNV that he was a bit surprised to receive an invitation after his widely reported reaction to Obama’s comments. But the invitation hasn’t softened his anger.

“We are hurting, we have people in foreclosures, we have people having a hard time feeding their families and we can’t stand to have a flippant statement made,” Goodman told the news channel. SOURCE

The anti-business Obama has did it again! I sure hope he keeps campaigning for Larry Reid as it will help both of them right out of Washington D.C.

Indiana Democrat Sen. Evan Bayh will not seek re-election in November

Bayh, an Indiana Democrat, announced Monday that he will not seek re-election in November. Bayh is the third Democratic senator to announce he is retiring. Dodd of Connecticut and Sen. Byron Dorgan of North Dakota previously said they would not seek re-election. “Congress is not operating as it should,” Bayh said at a news conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, adding there’s too much partisanship and “the people’s business is not getting done.” Bayh said he loves public service, but does “not love Congress” and is “not motivated by strident partisanship or ideology.” SOURCE

Its tough being a democrat when they control both the Senate and the House! Why you ask, because when the democrats vote for the Obama’s Socialist agenda they can not blame anyone else for their mistakes!
