UPDATED: Religious Leaders Call for Civil Disobedience if….

A formidable coalition of 150 Catholic, Orthodox and evangelical leaders are calling on Christians in a new manifesto to reject secular authority and even engage in civil disobedience if laws force them to accept abortion, same-sex marriage and other ideas that betray their religious beliefs.
On Friday, these leaders released a 4,700-word document called the “The Manhattan Declaration: A Call of Christian Conscience.” Read more at: SOURCE

The White House is on a collision course with Catholic bishops in an intractable dispute over abortion that could blow up the fragile political coalition behind President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul.
A top Obama administration official on Thursday praised the new Senate health care bill’s attempt to find a compromise on abortion coverage _ even as an official of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops said Sen. Congressman Patrick Kennedy has been barred from receiving Communion by his Bishop in Rhode Island.
Bishop Thomas Tobin has barred Patrick, the son of the late Senator Edward Kennedy, because of his position on abortion rights.
“The bishop instructed me not to take Communion and said that he has instructed the diocesan priests not to give me Communion,” Kennedy told the Providence Journal.
It is not clear if other bishops will follow Tobin’s lead. Kennedy also attends Mass frequently in Massachusetts, where the family has a home.
Kennedy said the bishop had told him “that I am not a good practicing Catholic because of the positions that I’ve taken as a public official,” particularly on abortion.
The dispute between the two men began in October when Kennedy criticized the nation’s Catholic bishops for threatening to oppose health care legislation unless it included tighter controls on federally funded abortion. SOURCE

This is a good example of losing our freedom in this country! If this White House isn’t careful there will be one big uprising against the government take over of our lives! You can see it coming fast!

White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan waving flags

The members of the Mississippi White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan spent about 10 minutes waving flags, displaying Nazi-style salutes and occasionally gesturing at a group of about 250 hecklers. The Klan said it was protesting over lost Southern symbolism at Ole Miss. Read More

I don’t care for the KKK but they are correct in saying that Southern symbolism at Ole Miss is being lost. And they do have a right to freedom of speech.

Obama ‘Very Dangerous,’ Causing ‘Severe Damage’

One of the leaders of the nation’s influential Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) tells Newsmax that President Obama is “very dangerous” in his economic policies and his foreign policy is causing “severe damage” to U.S. standing in the world.

He pointed out that Southern Baptist make up a “disproportionate” membership in the Armed Forces and that the SBC strongly opposes any changes to military policies relating to gays in the military. He suggested that changes Obama has stated he will make would undermine military readiness because it could cause many evangelicals serving in the military to leave. SOURCE

Being a veteran I know for sure that I would not have joined the Military and would have got out if military policies as Obama calls for was passed in to law. Ever heard the old saying ” you turn out to be like the people you hang around”? Well this southern boy will not be hanging around gays.
