UPDATE: 28 JUNE – Conyers, the wife of Dem U.S. Rep. John Conyers pleads Guilty of Bribery

Conyers, the wife of powerful Democratic congressman U.S. Rep. John Conyers, appeared before Cohn to answer charges in connection with the wide-ranging probe of wrongdoing at Detroit city hall.

Detroit City Council President Pro Tem Monica Conyers pleaded guilty this morning to conspiring to commit bribery and is free on personal bond.

U.S. District Judge Avern Cohn said, “The defendant now stands convicted.”

The one count of conspiring to commit bribery is punishable by up to five years in prison. Read More

Maybe John Conyers should have an affair, would not be as bad as being married to a Detroit City Council President that pleads guilty of bribery. Wonder what part John Conyers had in this crime of his wife?  Could it be that the power to be told John Conyers that he would be tied to his wife bribery charges if he didn’t call off his investigation of ACORN!

DEMOCRAT Sen. Arlen Specter Flips to Support Public Insurance Option

Sen. Arlen Specter told an audience of union activists Thursday that he supports the public health insurance option currently being considered by Congress as part of the healthcare overhaul.

“I know you are very interested in the public component and I think Senator Schumer has the right idea about having a public component,” Specter said at a rally held at the Capitol City Brewery near Union Station. The remarks were first reported by The Morning Call’s Pennsylvania Avenue political blog.

The statement signaled a dramatic shift, apparently brought on in anticipation of a tight race in the Democratic Primary against Rep. Joe Sestak. One new poll shows Specter’s favorability rating at a 17-year low. Read More

Only 28 percent of all those surveyed say that he deserves re-election, according to the latest Keystone Poll, and double that number say it’s time for a change.

73% of Republicans have a favorable opinion of Gov. Sarah Palin (17% unfavorable) while only 57% have a favorable opinion (18% unfavorable) of Mitt Romney

The 2012 election is way off. But Republicans are known to go with the guy who finished second last time. Is it Mitt Romney, who finished behind John McCain in the primaries? Or is it Sarah Palin, who almost carried McCain to the White House last fall?

Republicans seem to be leaning toward Palin.

The more the liberal democrats attack Gov. Sarah Palin the more the American people like her! I still think she had more experience to lead America than Obama had. Matter of fact I think State Governors make better presidents and Senators never has mad very good presidents in my opinion!
