The Obamas, Barack and Michelle both, pretty much diplomatically botched the recent visit of British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and his wife. Oddly enough, the U.S. Old Media seems uninterested in the story that is a hot topic in England, a story that’s left many Brits a bit miffed.

As the visit of the national leader of our closest ally began, the President informed the Brits that he wouldn’t be attending the joint press conference that was planned to be held once PM Brown’s plane touched down. This threw the visiting delegation into a tizzy leaving them scrambling to explain the sudden change in plans to the folks back home. Still, meetings were had and things smoothed out. Eventually the visit seemed to right itself… then came the Obama’s gift gaffes.

The entire British press is up in arms. Many in Britain are seeing this as entirely gauche and indicative of the low esteem in which the Obama’s hold England.

Worse, no one is 100% sure that Obama was smart enough to know that DVDs made in America don’t play on European DVD players.

Corporate Income Taxes Cost the Average American Household $3,190 (Video on Source Page)

“Most people think that corporate income taxes are paid by wealthy, anonymous companies,” said Scott Hodge, President of the Tax Foundation. “But as economists have been teaching for years, people bear the burden of corporate taxes, not companies.”

Economist William Randolph found that 70 percent of corporate tax burdens fall on employees through lower wages and productivity, while the remaining 30 percent fall on company shareholders. A recent Tax Foundation study shows the federal corporate income tax alone collected $370 billion in 2007. Stimulus Job Creation Hits Wall of Red Tape

While frantically stumping for his stimulus plan, President Barack Obama told an audience in Elkhart, Indiana: “Economists from across the spectrum have warned that if we don’t act immediately, millions of more jobs will be lost… [W]e can’t afford to wait…”

Then there is the $8 billion the plan commits to high-speed rail (HSR) corridors.

“The definition of HSR, as applied to those in European and Asian countries, is passenger rail service that averages more than 150 miles per hour, which can only be achieved on very expensive, dedicated lines that serve only HSR,” says Utt. “Since no such lines exist in the U.S., any HSR would have to first acquire a right of way, buy the land in it, lay the very costly track, and buy the new equipment.”

The stimulus bill was not thought over very good was it, the democrats in congress showed that they can not and should not be writing the stimulus bills, thats Obama and his people job to do. Obama must not have experience enough to write it or he would not of allowed Nancy Pelosi to write the stimulus bill. He was to busy campaigning
which he does have lots of experience in, because he never had time to vote as a Senator. I think Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin and John McCain was right when they said that Obama was not experince enough to be president.
