UPDATE 01 Mar.
Backpedaling on the new ‘assault weapons’ ban
Well, that didn’t take long.

It seems Attorney General Eric Holder’s announcement that the Obama administration would seek a new ban on semiautomatic firearms was premature, and the damage control teams have arrived to put the torn facades back up.

First, we had House Speaker Nancy Pelosi “throw[ing] cold water” on the idea: Read More at Gun Rights Examiner

Now what did you say in DEC of 2008 Obama?

As gun sales shoot up around the country, President-elect Barack Obama said Sunday that gun-owning Americans do not need to rush out and stock up before he is sworn in next month.
“I believe in common-sense gun safety laws, and I believe in the second amendment,” Obama said at a news conference. “Lawful gun owners have nothing to fear. I said that throughout the campaign. I haven’t indicated anything different during the transition. I think people can take me at my word.”
But National Rifle Association spokesman Andrew Arulanandam said it’s not Obama’s words — but his legislative track record — that has gun-buyers flocking to the stores. Read More here

That not-to-worry quote from the Obama is noteworthy in that it contains a sort of meta-lie, a lie describing everything else he says.

“I think people can take me at my word.”

Indidentally, this is a perfect opportunity to begin harrassing your people in Congress, if you have not already done so. A surprising number of them are spooked by talk of gun control. Remember, Bro Bill Clinton used to blame the R’s ’94 takeover on the NRA.

How is it that a ban and a reinstatement of the “fairness” doctrine managed to pass in the sentate?

  • Where I’m coming from!

As a person that's been around the country and seen what America was and now what she has became makes me sick. I keep up with the news and what's going on and try to state my opinion of the way I feel about the U.S. Government and the way it's dictating our every day personal lives. I'm not a conservative or am I a liberal, just call me a good American citizen that will vote for the person based on their past history. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the post I make.
