UPDATED 15 FEB Video – Tennessee lawmakers lend names to Obama citizenship lawsuit

Several Tennessee lawmakers have signed onto a legal action intended to force President Barack to turn over his birth certificate and other documents to prove his citizenship, an effort already rejected by the U.S. Supreme Court in another case.

Tennessee Reps. Eric Swafford, Stacey Campfield, Glen Casada and Frank Nicely have all agreed to be plaintiffs in future legal action from a Russian immigrant in California who has challenged whether Obama meets constitutional criteria to be president.

The lawsuit from the Defend Our Freedoms Foundation, which has not yet been filed, will be among several court challenges to Obama’s citizenship. Read More

Four Southern states — Texas, South Carolina, Oklahoma and Arkansas — are considering legislation that would allow people to carry handguns openly in a holster.
These generally Second Amendment-friendly states are among the last six holdouts against open carrying of guns. Openly carrying handguns is legal in most states, even those that ban concealed firearms. New York and Florida also bar openly carrying handguns. Read More

Do you agree with the right to carry handguns openly in a holster? I think its better than concealed guns! But then again I agree with both ways openly in a holster or concealed.

Nancy Pelosi’s mouse slated for $30M slice of cheese from economic-stimulus package

Talk about a pet project. A tiny mouse with the longtime backing of a political giant may soon reap the benefits of the economic-stimulus package.

Lawmakers and administration officials divulged Wednesday that the $789 billion economic stimulus bill being finalized behind closed doors in Congress includes $30 million for wetlands restoration that the Obama administration intends to spend in the San Francisco Bay Area to protect, among other things, the endangered salt marsh harvest mouse.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi represents the city of San Francisco and has previously championed preserving the mouse’s habitat in the Bay Area. Read More

Bacon Hunt: Stimulus Bill Contains Many Items That May Not Boost Economy

FOXNews.com readers pored over the package and found a host of expenditures that might not pump money in any time soon. What follows is a list of some of the more fascinating — if less stimulating — items in the bill:

– $100 million for the Lead-Based Paint Hazard Control Grant Program
– $200 million to the Leaking Underground Storage Tank Trust Fund Program
– $300 million for “Violence Against Women Prevention and Prosecution Programs”
– $900 million for the IRS for the “Limitation on Administrative Expenses”
– $1 million for the Railroad Retirement Board for administrative costs
– $2 billion for the Drinking Water State Revolving Act
– $50 million for Health and Human Services to carry out injury prevention programs
– $1.1 billion for studies on the effectiveness of different medical treatments — $200 million to upgrade labs and facilities for the Department of Agriculture “to improve workplace safety and mission-area efficiencies”
– $10 million for urban canal inspection
– $16 billion to pay for student financial aid
– $1 billion to pay for the U.S. Census
– $600 million to pay for a fuel-efficient federal auto fleet
– $650 million for the Digital Converter Box Program to help the constantly delayed transition from analog television
– $485 million to the Forest Service for “hazardous fuels reduction and hazard mitigation activities in areas at high risk of catastrophic wildfire”
– Up to $1 billion for “summer activities” for youths as old as 24
– $40 million for the occupational research agenda
– $3 billion for the Centers for Disease Control wellness programs and vaccinations
– $410 million for Indian health facilities
– $2.4 billion for carbon-capture demonstrations
