KY asked for federal assistance on Feb. 2. FEMA mobilized on Feb. 4. DOn’t states-rights advocates understand that the federal government cannot just come onto an emergency site whenever they wish? Since you asked, goodtimepolitics, I think President Obama has more pressing matters right now, like shepherding the stimulus bill thorugh Congress. If memory serves, the only thing President Bush was doing at the time of Katrina was celebrating John McCain’s birthday on a tarmac in Arizona.

It says “Shapiro said President Obama quickly granted Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear’s request for an emergency declaration.” Beshear made his request on Feb. 2, and FEMA moved in on Feb. 4. There wasn’t a 10 day lag at all.

Are you suggesting, goodtimepolitics, that there’s no use defending Obama even when he’s right? Or is your problem that, in your humble opinion, Obama is never right?
