With only one judge who had the strength, courage and conviction to stand up for the murdered sailors and say that al-nashiri’s arraignment would go forward So anyway I asked the aide if he would please get my letter to Obama instead. He said he would if I faxed it. I had wrote Obama a letter the previous week pleading with him to change his mind. I faxed the letter later that same day. I knew that I would have to tell my wife later on when we got home that our murdered son’s trail had become a victim of petty politics. And that she would be upset and hurt yet again.

We’re back in the situation the moonbats used to bemoan when Chimpy McHitler was in charge — holding people without charging them. Let’s get under way. Charge ‘em, give ‘em a fair trial, then hang ‘em. The real problem here is not the legal niceties the “process” fetishists come up with in order to hold things up. The real problem is the asymmetry of our rulers’ mindset, the superstitious dread of punishing our enemies. It’s a Boomer thing, propagated through the schools and media — the axiomatic justice of the other side. The same mindset keeps capital murder cases bouncing around the courts for years, but, in the case of terrorists, the superstition is aggravated by the foreignness of the perpetrators (foreigners are always right about us) and by their profession of a clear killer faith (people who believe in a higher cause are always admirable, excepting, say, those who believe in western civilization).
