UPDATE 03 FEB – www.whitehouse.gov Ethics Section Is A Laugh Obama!
I went to www.whitehouse.gov for the first time and for my last time cause when I read the ethics section it has not been completed and I’m guessing for a reason, how will Obama explain away the ethics of his own team?
THE AGENDA • ETHICS
The ethics section is currently being revised to reflect President Obama’s Executive Order concerning Ethics Commitments by Executive Branch Personnel, issued on January 21, 2009. Please check back soon.
(1) In 1998, Daschle said that “tax cheaters cheat us all” and they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
WITH DREW
Conflict of Interest?
Mascoma Corporation, a leader in cellulosic biomass-to-biofuels development and production, today announced former United States Senator Tom Daschle has joined the company’s Board of Directors. Senator Daschle represented South Dakota, and is the one of the longest serving Senate Leaders in history, holding the position from 1994 to 2005. He is a longtime ethanol advocate who has sponsored legislation and led Congressional measures to advance the renewable fuels industry. Read More
Health care groups paid Daschle $220K
Daschle made nearly $5.3 million in the last two years, records released Friday show, including $220,000 he received for giving speeches, many of them to outfits that stand to gain or lose millions of dollars from the work he would do once confirmed as secretary of Health and Human Services.

(2)Timothy Geithner didn’t pay Social Security and Medicare taxes for several years while he worked for the International Monetary Fund, and he employed an immigrant housekeeper who briefly lacked proper work papers. Read More
(3)Rangel ethics inquiries vex House leaders
A renewed ethics probe of Rep. Charles B. Rangel of New York poses an embarrassing distraction for House Democrats, as the Ways and Means Committee that he leads will oversee House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s plans for an $825 billion economic rescue and a tax increase on wealthy Americans.
The ethics committee also is investigating whether Mr. Rangel abused the power of his office in soliciting donations for the Charles B. Rangel Center for Public Service at the City College of New York. Read More
(4) Then there is Chris Dodd
Sen. Dodd (DEM), Stop Waffling and Release The Documents
Back in 2003, Sen. Dodd took part in a VIP program called “Friends of Angelo” (a reference to Countrywide CEO Angelo Mozilo) in which participants received special rates and had fees waived; Dodd reportedly saved about $75,000 on the life of two loans.>
(5) Obama’s Chief Performance Officer Nancy Killefer
Nancy Killefer, who failed for a year and a half to pay employment taxes on household help, has withdrawn her candidacy to be the first chief performance officer for the federal government, the White House said Tuesday.
Killefer was the second major Obama administration nominee to withdraw and the third to have tax problems complicate their nomination after President Barack Obama announced their selection.

(6) How about Gov. Bill Richardson with him being accused of pay to play trouble. Had to step down.
What this American would like to know how can a president talk about ethics when there are so many un-ethics happening within his own team including yourself there Barack. Not paying your due share of taxes would surely not be good ethics and for The President of The United States to uphold such actions by rewarding these tax dodgers is not setting a very good example for other Americans. </span

(1) “Make no mistake, tax cheaters cheat us all, and the IRS should enforce our laws to the letter. ”
(2) Obama stands by his man Daschle

I guess it’s sort of a “situation ethics” agenda. If enough cabinet picks are tax cheats, pardon peddlers, or fat lobbyists, old-fashioned pre-hopechange ethics may no longer be appropriate.
I agree, its anything goes as long as you’re a democrat politician!
“Do as I say, not as I do”. Doesn’t sound like anything has been revised to me.
Same old Washington politics huh! Cheating all the way!
Many more names added to post not paying taxes and other ethics problems!
Nancy Killefer the latest!
I think this Daschle, he is sunk.
Oh, and with that, I go over to Drudge, and Daschle has withdrawn. Score one for actual ethics.
Yep and I had just posted that he withdrew! LOL
