UPDATE 03 FEB – www.whitehouse.gov Ethics Section Is A Laugh Obama!

I went to www.whitehouse.gov for the first time and for my last time cause when I read the ethics section it has not been completed and I’m guessing for a reason, how will Obama explain away the ethics of his own team?

THE AGENDA • ETHICS

The ethics section is currently being revised to reflect President Obama’s Executive Order concerning Ethics Commitments by Executive Branch Personnel, issued on January 21, 2009.  Please check back soon.

(1) In 1998, Daschle said that “tax cheaters cheat us all” and they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

WITH DREW

Conflict of Interest?
Mascoma Corporation, a leader in cellulosic biomass-to-biofuels development and production, today announced former United States Senator Tom Daschle has joined the company’s Board of Directors. Senator Daschle represented South Dakota, and is the one of the longest serving Senate Leaders in history, holding the position from 1994 to 2005. He is a longtime ethanol advocate who has sponsored legislation and led Congressional measures to advance the renewable fuels industry. Read More

Health care groups paid Daschle $220K

Daschle made nearly $5.3 million in the last two years, records released Friday show, including $220,000 he received for giving speeches, many of them to outfits that stand to gain or lose millions of dollars from the work he would do once confirmed as secretary of Health and Human Services.

(3)Rangel ethics inquiries vex House leaders
A renewed ethics probe of Rep. Charles B. Rangel of New York poses an embarrassing distraction for House Democrats, as the Ways and Means Committee that he leads will oversee House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s plans for an $825 billion economic rescue and a tax increase on wealthy Americans.
The ethics committee also is investigating whether Mr. Rangel abused the power of his office in soliciting donations for the Charles B. Rangel Center for Public Service at the City College of New York. Read More

(4) Then there is Chris Dodd

Sen. Dodd (DEM), Stop Waffling and Release The Documents
Back in 2003, Sen. Dodd took part in a VIP program called “Friends of Angelo” (a reference to Countrywide CEO Angelo Mozilo) in which participants received special rates and had fees waived; Dodd reportedly saved about $75,000 on the life of two loans.>

(5) Obama’s Chief Performance Officer Nancy Killefer

Nancy Killefer, who failed for a year and a half to pay employment taxes on household help, has withdrawn her candidacy to be the first chief performance officer for the federal government, the White House said Tuesday.

Killefer was the second major Obama administration nominee to withdraw and the third to have tax problems complicate their nomination after President Barack Obama announced their selection.

(6) How about Gov. Bill Richardson with him being accused of pay to play trouble. Had to step down.

What this American would like to know how can a president talk about ethics when there are so many un-ethics happening within his own team including yourself there Barack. Not paying your due share of taxes would surely not be good ethics and for The President of The United States to uphold such actions by rewarding these tax dodgers is not setting a very good example for other Americans. </span

Bill creates detention camps in U.S. for ‘emergencies’(Military police state?)

12has

Rep. Alcee L. Hastings D-Fla., has introduced to the House of Representatives a new bill, H.R. 645, calling for the secretary of homeland security to establish no fewer than six national emergency centers for corralling civilians on military installations

The broad specifications of the bill’s language, however, contribute to concern that the “national emergency” purpose could be utilized by the secretary of homeland security to include any kind of situation the government wants to contain or otherwise control.

Rep. Hastings created controversy during the 2008 presidential campaign with his provocative comments concerning Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

“If Sarah Palin isn’t enough of a reason for you to get over whatever your problem is with Barack Obama, then you damn well had better pay attention,” Hastings said, as reported by ABC News. “Anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks. So, you just think this through.”  Read More

Wal-Mart Looks Abroad For Growth

wal-mart

Sales rose just 1.7% in December at Wal-Mart’s U.S. stores that have been open at least a year. That was better than the performance of the vast majority of retailers, but worse than Wall Street had expected. At the same time, Wal-Mart’s foreign profits were diminished by unfavorable currency-exchange rates. Wal-Mart said it expects January sales to be between flat and a 2% increase compared with the year-earlier month.

Wal-Mart has a chance to grow explosively around the globe as it brings its discount formula to countries where retailing is less sophisticated.

“The return on investment in countries in South America and elsewhere in the world is far better than putting a third store in any U.S. city,” said Love Goel, chairman of Growth Ventures Group, a private-equity firm.

The socialist agenda of Barack Obama and the democrats will drive more companies like Wal-Mart out of America. Obama giving the unions more power and talking of taxing companies more will not help America.
