Well what did the Catholic Church expect from Barack Obama? They were warn of who Obama was. Now I guess they see for themselvies! Oh well two years will past fast and congress can be changed…then two years afterward Obama can be sent walking. The problem is that all the things he has changed will take many years to reverse!
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has taken an in-between position on localism.
The USCCB will take as many in-between positions as they can. Means nothing. This crypto-fairness doctrine has a good chance of blowing up into a really big freedom of speech issue. I don’t think it will be too hard to stop it. And it’s aimed, btw, at Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, etc.
Don’t forget bloggers like us Luke.
We may have them rethinking this now.
Sperry is right. Blogs have been targeted in Europe and Canada. But there has been at least some rethinking on the part of the Donks. The DeMint amendment to the unconstitutional DC voting bill was passed with lots of Dem support in the Senate, and it explicitly forbade reconsideration of the Fairness Doctrine. At the same time, unfotunately, Durbin’s amendment, calling for “public interest” and “diversity” rules in media also passed — the Fairness Doctrine with a fashionable new look. So, the speech suppressors are changing their tactics, at least, meaning that they’re aware of how dangerous the issue could be for them.
