Obama you’re not getting off to a very good start when you start attacking the Republicans and the conservative talk radio king. What are you trying to be a dictator? Lied to the American people from the start of the campaign and now expect our respect. This all shows the wet behind the ears unexperience when you start attacking anyone that has a different opinion than you Obama!
It’s just a wish list for special interest groups, a payoff. Even if you buy the oldtime Keynesian religion, it’s garbage — nearly a trillion bucks worth of garbage, a trillion dollars extorted from future taxpayers.
And, yeah, Obama would’t mind at all being a dictator.
Here’s my inner cynic kicking in. The Congressional Budget Office has figured out that most of the “infrastructure” spending isn’t acheduled to kick in until the second half of the Obama’s term, 2011 and 2012. Since the recession will very likely be over by then, or so the economist-clairvoyants are telling us, the late spending will have no stimulative effect under any model and will, in fact, strengthen inflationary pressure and distort investment. One positive thing it would do, however, is give the Obama billions in pork still to be distributed just as the next presidential election rolls around. The Obama learned politics in Chicago, and political corruption at the local level, certainly at the Chicago level is based on infrastucture spending. Construction contractors are where the big campaign money comes from, at least before the Age of Soros.
