Bond, who is vice chair of the Senate Select Intelligence Committee and member of the Subcommittee on Oversight of the Terrorist Surveillance Program, says his state and nearby Leavenworth prison in Kansas want no part in housing terror suspects.

“The people in San Francisco are the ones making the big noise about it,” Bond told several reporters during a telephone conference Wednesday with KMOX News radio in St. Louis. “And if they want to bring [the detainees] to the United States, I think we ought to put them in Alcatraz and let our good friends in San Francisco deal with these deadly combatants who, in the past, when released from Guantanamo, have gone back on the battlefield to kill Americans.”  Read More

GOP Sen. John McCain is positioning himself to be one of President Barack Obama’s strongest supporters, effectively giving Democrats the votes they need to override any GOP attempt to block the new administration’s legislative agenda.

Obama heaped warm praise on his GOP rival during a dinner held in McCain’s honor the day before the inauguration, calling him a hero.

Insiders duly noted McCain was granted a prime spot on the dais at the inauguration, sandwiched in a seat between White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

I have always said that John McCain was to far left of center to be president. This is why McCain could not get his base the conservatives together, well not until Palin came into the race that is.  John McCain lost the election, not Palin.  Sarah Palin you sure are looking good for 2012.

A senior Vatican official on Saturday attacked US President Barack Obama for “arrogance” for overturning a ban on state funding for family-planning groups that carry out or facilitate abortions overseas.

Obama is losing his support from many groups! If he keeps this up and makes as many mad as he has this last week, then by next weekend his rating will be very much lower than 68. The republicans have to start campaigning now and keep all these Obama mistakes out under the spotlight.
