Family members of people killed on September 11, 2001, and in other terror attacks say they are outraged by President Obama’s draft order calling for the suspension of war crimes trials of prisoners being held at Guantanamo Bay.
“To me it’s beyond comprehension that they would take the side of the terrorists,” said Peter Gadiel, whose son, James, was killed at the World Trade Center on 9/11. “Many of these people have been released and been right back killing, right back at their terrorist work again.”
Obama’s request on the first full day of his presidency came as a draft order was being prepared ordering the closing of the Guantanamo prison within a year. Read More

A new Pentagon report may complicate Obama’s plans for Gitmo.
The decision to release additional case studies from the report is in effect a warning shot to the new president from officials at the Pentagon and U.S. intelligence agencies who are skeptical about some of his plans. Some Pentagon officials, including ones sympathetic to Obama’s goals, note the political outcry would be deafening should another example like Al-Shihri become public six months from now—and it turns out be a Guantanamo detainee released under Obama’s watch rather than by the Bush administration. “The last thing Obama wants is for one of these guys [at Guantanamo] to get released and return to killing Americans,” said one senior Defense Department official who asked not to be identified because of the political sensitivities.
Top Obama administration officials have privately acknowledged that the problem of still dangerous detainees at Guantanamo is more worrisome than some of president’s campaign statements might suggest.

Don’t you have any respect for the families with members killed by terrorist? 3000 or more Americans killed on 9/11, burned alive was women and children, dads and moms, grandmothers and grandfathers! In Iraq sons and daugthers killed and some beheaded by these terrorist and you want to stop trials! Obama you expect the American people to respect you so why can you not show the American people the same kind of respect?
