Obama better think long and hard about this, if it happens then the draft will have to be restarted. There will be many that will get out of service and many more that will not enlist in the first place.

    Seriously, gays in the military is a terrible idea and I wouldn’t be surprised if the LGBT lobby ended up under the bus.

  3. Reading that first article, at Newsmax, I see a lawyer for some gay rights group is quoted re the service people who will likely leave:

    “There will always be some people who will prefer the status quo, but people who preferred segregated units (banned in the US military in 1948) didn’t leave the military by and large,” notes Aubrey Sarvis, director of the SDLN.

    Aside from the illegitimate comparison of gays and blacks, which gays love to make, there’s a problem here. Integration actually occurred over a period of 15 years (1948-63), during which time we had a frikkin draft army. We weren’t going to lose a quarter of our military personnel, since service was compulsory, regardless of whom you had to bunk with. Nowadays, we have a volunteer military (Yay!), and people who threaten to leave the Obama’s new Gay Fighting Force really will leave.
