“Your invitation to Reverend Rick Warren to deliver the invocation at your inauguration is a genuine blow to LGBT Americans,” the president of Human Rights Campaign, Joe Solomonese, wrote to Obama Wednesday. “We feel a deep level of disrespect when one of architects and promoters of an anti-gay agenda is given the prominence and the pulpit of your historic nomination.
The rapid, angry reaction from a range of gay activists comes as the gay rights movement looks for an opportunity to flex its political muscle.
In selecting Warren, he is choosing to reach out to conservatives on a hot-button social issue, at the cost of antagonizing gay voters who overwhelmingly supported him. Read More
What did they expect from Obama as he speaks with forked tongue? Will there be a gay protest against Obama? Seem to me that they gave him lots of there money and he is now throwing them under the bus until he needs them again!

If this is your first time hearing of this story, don’t be surprised. This is a huge contrast to the shock waves that were sent throughout mainstream media when Rev. Willie Wilson voiced his criticisms about the homosexual lifestyle. Read More
People need to stop. Obama isn’t anti gay. I guess all groups that supported Obama wants him to bend over to take up his you know just because they voted for him. What about accepting your responsibility for casting your vote for Obama? I voted for Obama because I knew he was a better candidate for presidency than McCain. Aren’t conservatives Americans also? It seems to me that all groups in America is going to ride him like they have never rode anyone else. I don’t know why Obama wanted to do this job. My prayers are with him and his family, friends and all of us that supports him.
He isn’t a puppet. He will do his best for everyone within his capacity.
You speak a good talk Sandra, but the gay leaders are speaking out also. As for Obama being a better candidate, how can you show me that he even has the experience? I will welcome your answer.
Obama was never for gay rights in the first place,
He was very clear about that in his campaign. Even still I think he’s going to make a better president then McCain would have.

As the Democratic nominee for President, I am proud to join with and support the LGBT community in an effort to set our nation on a course that recognizes LGBT Americans with full equality under the law. That is why I support extending fully equal rights and benefits to same sex couples under both state and federal law. That is why I support repealing the Defense of Marriage Act and the “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy, and the passage of laws to protect LGBT Americans from hate crimes and employment discrimination. And that is why I oppose the divisive and discriminatory efforts to amend the California Constitution, and similar efforts to amend the U.S. Constitution or those of other states.
Remember, whenever Obama is “very clear” about something, he could mean almost anything. Diogenes tells us it’s all a matter of context.
