Jordanians don’t think Obama will change US policy

Most Jordanians believe Washington’s foreign policy is not likely to change as a result of Barak Obama’s election as US president, a poll showed on Monday. In a survey by the University of Jordan’s Center of Strategic Studies, 57 percent of people questioned thought “Obama’s election makes no difference” to his country’s foreign policy.
Just 46 percent of Jordanians think “Obama’s election will positively affect efforts to tackle the world economic crisis.”

Aide: Obama “Committed To” Mideast Peace

Obama foreign policy team, which would be led by Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State if her appointment is approved, would likely follow a similar policy to the current administration, which has supported Israel’s right to defend itself against rockets fired into southern Israel.

In July, Obama said, “If somebody was sending rockets into my house where my two daughters sleep at night, I’m going to do everything in my power to stop that. And I would expect Israelis to do the same thing.”

Conflict upends Obama’s plans

Obama’s views on the Israeli action remain opaque. Even as the attack continued into its third day Monday, with a Palestinian death toll topping 300 and Israel threatening a ground invasion, Obama had yet to say a word about the crisis, on the grounds that President George W. Bush (who has also been silent) must take the lead.

Though both sides in the Middle East are intensely aware that this battle will establish facts on the ground in the region for the new administration, Obama’s advisers have sent only vague signals, with David Axelrod on “Face the Nation” Sunday calling Israel a “great ally” and citing America’s “special relationship” with the Jewish state.

In a visit this summer to Israel, Obama did appear to give implicit approval to such a strike, saying, “If somebody was sending rockets into my house where my two daughters sleep at night, I’m going to do everything in my power to stop that. And I would expect Israelis to do the same thing.” Read More

Obama spoke out about the Russia and Georgia conflict and it took three times for him to get his statement right. So why is he being quiet about Israeli Strikes against Gaza? Is he playing both sides not wanting to upset Israel by letting them know where he stands!  We have heard Obama says one thing and do another…we shall see.

  1. He can’t be disturbed from the massive display of fellatio which is being preformed on him by all the members of the MSM covering Our Glorious Leader’s vacation in blue Hawai’i.

  2. lukemcgook says:

Actually, I’m thinking that, if all Obama does for the next four years is “closely monitor” all the situations that come his way, we’ll be OK.

  3. riggword says:

This “News” is not “New” it is the same old song.

The big difference will come when Obama checks in as President.

Then we will see what his true character is all about.

Keep praying for Obama to stand tall for Israel and for America.

  4. goodtimepolitics says:

I’m not so sure he will but we shall see! He’s sure not making himself clear of what he stands for! I hope he stays center and don’t move to the far left with the moveon.org and pinky bunch!

  5. Elijah says:

If Obama truly wants to bring change for this nation and the world.. he must stand against the transgressors (Israel). End the forced relations the US has had with it and begin a true peaceful effort to end the occupation. The war seems to continue as long as their is occupation. End the Occupation in West Bank and let Gazan live their lives. Palestinian rockets killed 1 Israeli man… whereas Isreal has massacred over 200 Gazans… where is justice? Israeli occupation crimes instigate intifadas. But we Americans never hear about the daily attacks by Israel in mainstream media.

  6. goodtimepolitics says:

Hamas is terrorist and has broke every crease fire! The American people will be in arms if Obama turns against Israel which is out best allie in the Middle East! Obama will not be able to tell Israel what they can do. With Iran and Hamas wanting to push Israel off the Earth I can not blame Israel for defending self!

  7. lukemcgook says:

    Elijah

    1) What occupation are we talking about here?

    2) How many Israelis is Hamas permitted to kill before Israel is allowed to reply?

  8. farside67 says:

He will side with hamas in a quiet way. bad

  9. riggword says:

    I read this today,

“Obama advisor David Axlerod says it’s important to get money in people’s pockets
But Axlerod also told NBC’s “Meet the Press” that the administration still plans to let President George W. Bush’s tax cuts expire. Axlerod says those tax cuts skew to the wealthy, and “it’s something we plainly can’t afford.”"

Maybe Axlerod can tell Obama…er… I mean the rest of us what Obama’s plan for Israel is?

We’ll just have to wait and see.

  10. goodtimepolitics says:

I think they’re jumping to far ahead to say that obama will let President George W. Bush’s tax cuts expire, no one knows what the country will be doing by then. They are giving millions to these companies and then going to tax them more don’t make sinse to me.

  11. lukemcgook says:

Well, all these economic policy stunts that sound fishy actually make sense in terms of old-fashioned Keynesian economics. For instance, raising taxes and government spending by the same amount is supposed to have a stimulative effect, since that part of the tax receipts that would have been saved by taxpayers is now being spent by government, and spending is what we’re after when we’re trying to get out of a depression. Unfortunately, as time goes on, Lord Keynes’ view of the world appears more and more mistaken. The common sense suspicion that government spending isn’t a very effective stimulus is getting more and more support from economic researchers.

The Obimi team, despite all the Ivy League stamps on their career passports, are intellectual fossils. The academics and the failed financiers in charge of economic policy subscribe to obsolete theory. The greenhead hysterics in charge of energy and environmental policy also subscribe to obsolete theory, as anthropogenic global warming — always known to be a hoax to those paying attention — is finally being shown to be a hoax.

  12. riggword says:

    lukemcgook ,

I agree and you said it well for the economic mistakes Obama will make.

Now just multiply those mistakes by real bombs killing real people in the real world that Obama and his advisers have even less of a clue about.

    Keep praying keep blogging,
    What else can we do?

  13. lukemcgook says:

Good point, rigg, although his foreign policy/security crew, so far, don’t seem to be quite so hopeless as his economic/energy/environment crew.

Foreign policy, of couse, is what presidents are supposed to be doing, and it will often be difficult for O to vote present. I can picture Hillary, after a sudden access of realism, wrestling Obama to the floor to get him to do something, anything.

  14. goodtimepolitics says:

Will Barack and Hillary be in the Oval Office alone?

  15. lukemcgook says:

She can take him. As long as he can’t reach that Secret Service call button, she’ll have him pinned in no time.

  16. riggword says:

    lukemcgook ,

I’d love to see that match.

I’ll put my money on Hillary!

  17. George-the Vet says:

Hamas Youth supported Obama, let us not forget this fact. He also stated in his book that ‘if the political winds changed, he would side with the Muslims’.Let us wait and see what he will do now.
The Holy Bible must be fullfilled even if there are those who refuses to believe.
Isreal will win in the long run even if the whole world turns against her.
Be prepare for more ‘ major disasters to occur upon those who willfully attemp to destroy the Jews.
Look at what happen here in the USA after Jews were forced out, and stood on roofs, the same thing happened in Katrina.
This conflict goes back to when the Jews left for Egypt, and a mixed tribe lived in the land. This is all written in the Holy Bible. After the Jews returned the fighing started. This is all a part of the History and destiny in that region. it will continue until Jesus returns to earth, and setup His Kingdom in Jerusalem.
Joshua Chaper 1:1-9 gives guidelines about the land God gave to His people.
    STOP THE HATE.

  18. goodtimepolitics says:

Obama “If somebody was sending rockets into my house where my two daughters sleep at night, I’m going to do everything in my power to stop that. And I would expect Israelis to do the same thing.”

Lets not forget that Obama could have ok the attack by Israel when he made that statement! Which he should have been more careful in how he said it. Obama is such a big mouth that he speaks before thinking!

Now he is between a rock and a hard spot again! We shall see how he handles it!

  19. riggword says:

The Israeli navy seems to know what to do with our Moonbat Liberals better than we do.

Do you think we could get them to come over here and clean the little Waskally Creatures out of our house?

  20. ginnypub says:

I agree, riggword. Israel rams ‘em and we vote for them. Go figure.

If he follows through on plans to reduce military spending he will be sending a clear message to our enemies that America is no longer willing to defend freedom and Israel as well. So far he has said nothing! [...]

  • Where I’m coming from!

As a person that's been around the country and seen what America was and now what she has became makes me sick. I keep up with the news and what's going on and try to state my opinion of the way I feel about the U.S. Government and the way it's dictating our every day personal lives. I'm not a conservative or am I a liberal, just call me a good American citizen that will vote for the person based on their past history. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the post I make.
