Is Barack Obama Losing His Base?

It seems some of Obama’s base isn’t happy with the decision, and this sentiment exists in Arkansas.

Gay rights groups take offense that, among other things, Pastor Warren has equated marriage equality for same sex couples with incest and pedophilia. They believe he is anti-gay. Read more

Obama backers slam his pick of Rick Warren
Megachurch pastor tapped to bring invocation at presidential inauguration

Immediately after release of the inaugural program today, Joe Solmonese, president of the “gay” rights group Human Rights Campaign, fired off a letter to Obama calling the president-elects choice “a genuine blow to LGBT Americans” – lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders, reports David Brody of CBN News.

People For the American Way also issued a quick statement, calling the pick “a grave disappointment.”

The benediction for the Jan. 20 inauguration will be given by civil rights icon Rev. Joseph Lowery.

Solmonese complains of Warren’s vocal support for Proposition 8 in California, the ballot measure passed Nov. 4 that limits marriage to one man and one woman.

The homosexual-rights leader writes that “by inviting Rick Warren to your inauguration, you have tarnished the view that gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans have a place at your table.” Read more

Code Pink Upset with Obama
We knew it wouldn’t be long until the left of the left would raise their ugly head and let out a growl at the president-elect. Sure enough Code Pink is showing concern over news articles stating that Obama won’t be pulling troops out of Iraq in their time plan. They also remembered Barack Obama was going to meet world leaders without preconditions. But all they are noticing is Obama’s shift to the center and him choosing cabinet members that don’t resemble their group. The picks are coming across, to them, as being somewhat hawkish. Read more

Obama Took $7250 Donation from Code Pink Terrorist Supporter Jodie Evans This Summer

Federal Election Commission documents reveal that Democratic party presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois accepted a hefty $7250 contribution this summer from terrorist supporter Jodie Evans, a co-founder of the anti-American group Code Pink.

The contribution was made through a hybrid fundraising vehicle, the Obama Victory Fund, that splits contributions between Obama’s presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee. The records were filed on July 30 and July 31 of this year. Evans designated $2300 of the $7250 for Obama’s general election campaign, the maximum allowed by law.

The contribution was apparently given by Evans for a June 24 Hollywood fundraiser for the Obama Victory Fund attended by Obama and Evans. Evans’ Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin described the meeting between Obama and Evans at the fundraiser in a video posted days after the event.

Evans has played a key role in Obama’s campaign from the very beginning when she co-hosted Obama’s breakout Hollywood fundraiser weeks after he announced his candidacy in February 2007.

Obama lied to the American people on many issues and changed his stand on those issues according to which group he was talking to and now he’s going to do what he wants as he does not need their votes now that he is the President! All I can say to those who voted for him! SUCKERS!

  1. I don’t have any problem with Obama sliding away from the left more towards the center. I think most who voted for him expected that; he did it during the campaign, too.

The fact is the far fringes on both sides of the political spectrum aren’t what people want. That goes equally for Code Pink and __Deleted_________.

goodtimepolitics: I guess you did not read the post of all the people on the far left such as code pink being upset with him and yes the far left liberals was his base! He is in between a rock and a hard spot and will lose supporters from both sides of the center! Code Pink was one of his donators of funds! You diogenes and your anti-war pinkys and far left looms was suckers!

  2. For the first time ever, Obama has picked a gay marching band to participate in the inaugural parade

Is that some kind of joke? It can’t be just a freakin’ marching band, it has to be a gay marching band. Off the rails.

  3. Inviting Rick Warren to speak at the Presidential inauguration is tantamount to inviting O.J. Simpson to speak at a women’s shelter.

Evan Wolfson guesstimates we will have Federal Marriage Equality in about 30 years (which would almost certainly require equality in employment and the military also).

So we need to either EMBRACE the fact that most of us over 40 will NOT see Full Federal Equality in our lifetime and remain “patient” as our civil rights crawl to the finish line…- OR – We could begin to TREAT the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT as it treats US.

    Two American Myths:

    * Equal Protection Under the Law (except for gays)
    * Separation of Church & State (except when the law applies to gays or a woman’s womb)

When Obama invited this “christian” to his speak at his inauguration, he invited a man who believes the Q-community are INFERIOR; “less than”. Let’s quit sugar-coating these turds! Being asked to “respect other’s opinions” doesn’t fly when those “opinions” are harmful lies about an entire segment of the population. Those “opinions” are tantamount to the extremely offensive beliefs and ideas our country once had about “negros” and “wives”, words and ideas that would NEVER FLY TODAY at an inauguration.

Words and ideas that would incite riots today.

The National Equality Tax Protest will be on Wednesday, April 15, 2009.

  4. John, old son, short of “full federal equality,” do you really feel proscribed, persecuted, or put down? You’re convinced you’re normal; shouldn’t that be enough? Do you have to be validated somehow by act of Congress, or by a majority of California voters?

  5. [According to PEW, Black opposition decreased by 6 percent: In 2004, 24 percent supported gay marriage while 56 percent opposed it. In 2008, the numbers are 26 percent and 56 percent. The study doesn't account for Hispanic (or Asian) opinion, a factor which will definitely matter with California's Proposition 8.]

So why blame Rick Warren and other pastors for this?

  6. Hey, GTP? Is it really that hard for you to debate my posts that you have to delete the portions you don’t have an answer for?

You allow my comment about Code Pink being on the ultraliberal extreme on the left, but you don’t have the nerve to recognize yourself as being the ultraconservative extreme on the right? I thought you PRIDED yourself for being such a great ultraconservative!

goodtimepolitics: Let me put it this way diogenes, when you start your own blog then you can control it. I will not allow you to spread your code pink liberal agenda on this blog. You can find some place else to spread your smears (To spread or daub with a sticky, greasy, or dirty substance).

  7. I second the motion! Di needs a blog of his own. Then we can all go over to his house, and GTP won’t always be running out of Diet Dr. Pepper.

  8. Although I’ve heard of Code Pink, I kow nothing of their agenda, nor do I belong. I know you must get some comfort with the notion that all 70 million voters who voted for Obama are part of some vast left wing conspiracy, but it simply isn’t so. I, personally, wouldn’t associate myself with ultra left wing groups any more than I would join the GTP Fan Club.

I’m willing to consider the thoughts and ideas of anybody who’s not simply a zealot for either side. I’m left-middle, at best.

goodtimepolitics: You tried to smear me for being in the military..which Code Pink is against the military! You are all one sided in favor of Obama no matter if there is proof of wrong doings! At least I condemn Bush for things that he does that I don’t agree with where as you get on your knees for B. Hussein Obama! Thats not center by a long shot! You seem to have the same agenda as the Code Pink and the far left anti-war moveon.org people!
