UPDATE AT BOTTOM OF PAGE

Given current national circumstances, watching voters turn away from the kind of leader we so desperately need is as sobering an event as the Alaska winter must be. Nevertheless, you ran an electrifying campaign under restrained and difficult circumstances. While your running mate garnered his comeuppance, you’ve energized conservatives throughout this land. There are tens of millions of Palinites out here very eager to do something.
Ominously, this election demonstrated that the Democrat machine has come to mimic the old U.S.S.R., in that it now reserves unto itself the right to lie, to cheat and to commit any act to further its own ends. Democrat tactics were on full display this time: American electoral probity be darned. There was voter registration fraud, ballot fraud, bureaucratic corruption, media malfeasance and ballot-count manipulation. They likely took millions in illegal donations, talked the economy downward and fiddled with the stock market too. It was a perfect feast of “coincidences” for them. While most Democrats are misguided, some are plainly evil.

UPDATE:
Sarah Palin: Conservative of the Year
Sarah Palin wins HUMAN EVENTS’ prestigious “Conservative of the Year” Award for 2008 for her genius at annoying all the right people.
In time, HUMAN EVENTS’ 2008 Conservative of the Year will be ready to be our President and someday can sweep into office and dismantle all the heinous government programs Obama and the Democrats are about to foist on the nation. Who knows? She might even be able to run as the candidate of “hope” and “change.”

Is Barack Obama Losing His Base?

It seems some of Obama’s base isn’t happy with the decision, and this sentiment exists in Arkansas.

Gay rights groups take offense that, among other things, Pastor Warren has equated marriage equality for same sex couples with incest and pedophilia. They believe he is anti-gay. Read more

Obama backers slam his pick of Rick Warren
Megachurch pastor tapped to bring invocation at presidential inauguration

Immediately after release of the inaugural program today, Joe Solmonese, president of the “gay” rights group Human Rights Campaign, fired off a letter to Obama calling the president-elects choice “a genuine blow to LGBT Americans” – lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders, reports David Brody of CBN News.

People For the American Way also issued a quick statement, calling the pick “a grave disappointment.”

The benediction for the Jan. 20 inauguration will be given by civil rights icon Rev. Joseph Lowery.

Solmonese complains of Warren’s vocal support for Proposition 8 in California, the ballot measure passed Nov. 4 that limits marriage to one man and one woman.

The homosexual-rights leader writes that “by inviting Rick Warren to your inauguration, you have tarnished the view that gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans have a place at your table.” Read more

Code Pink Upset with Obama
We knew it wouldn’t be long until the left of the left would raise their ugly head and let out a growl at the president-elect. Sure enough Code Pink is showing concern over news articles stating that Obama won’t be pulling troops out of Iraq in their time plan. They also remembered Barack Obama was going to meet world leaders without preconditions. But all they are noticing is Obama’s shift to the center and him choosing cabinet members that don’t resemble their group. The picks are coming across, to them, as being somewhat hawkish. Read more

Obama Took $7250 Donation from Code Pink Terrorist Supporter Jodie Evans This Summer

Federal Election Commission documents reveal that Democratic party presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois accepted a hefty $7250 contribution this summer from terrorist supporter Jodie Evans, a co-founder of the anti-American group Code Pink.

The contribution was made through a hybrid fundraising vehicle, the Obama Victory Fund, that splits contributions between Obama’s presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee. The records were filed on July 30 and July 31 of this year. Evans designated $2300 of the $7250 for Obama’s general election campaign, the maximum allowed by law.

The contribution was apparently given by Evans for a June 24 Hollywood fundraiser for the Obama Victory Fund attended by Obama and Evans. Evans’ Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin described the meeting between Obama and Evans at the fundraiser in a video posted days after the event.

Evans has played a key role in Obama’s campaign from the very beginning when she co-hosted Obama’s breakout Hollywood fundraiser weeks after he announced his candidacy in February 2007.

Obama lied to the American people on many issues and changed his stand on those issues according to which group he was talking to and now he’s going to do what he wants as he does not need their votes now that he is the President! All I can say to those who voted for him! SUCKERS!

The Auto Bailout by Government vs. Free Speech

Surprise! President Bush is willing to spend taxpayers money and inject the federal government into the economy – yet again. The financial bailout might have been justified on the grounds that finance is the lifeblood of the entire economy, and a frozen credit system brings every industry to a halt. But a bailout for a specific manufacturing industry has all the hallmarks of lemon socialism. It puts the federal government in the business of picking winners and losers, reduces the incentive of other industries to avoid excessive risk, creates a lobbying frenzy, and brings the inefficiency of the government sector to the normally more efficient private sector, which under free enterprise must stay in the black or go out of business. But I want to focus on a particularly scary part of this bailout bill.

Congress is going to use our money to censor political dissent? Usually libertarians warn that if you take government money, you’ll eventually find yourself subject to government restrictions on your freedoms. In this case, there’s no phase-in, no “eventually.” Congress wants to tell private companies, private individuals, that once they take government money, they will shut up and toe the government’s line.

If economics isn’t a good enough reason to oppose this bailout, preserving independent thought ought to be.

And lets don’t forget that Barack Obama agreed with President Bush on the bailout and that the congress had its chance to do something and fail to do anything!
