UPDATE: DEC 18 – Obama Attorney General Pick’s Golden Parachute (Rich looking out for the Rich)

UPDATE:
U.S. Attorney General-designate Eric Holder failed to mention legal work he did for embattled Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich in disclosures, observers said.

Blagojevich and Holder appeared together in 2004 to announce Holder’s role as “special investigator to the Illinois Gaming Board,” an effort to sort out a mess involving Illinois’ unawarded casino license. But the job, for which Holder’s law firm was to be paid $300,000, was not mentioned in a 47-page response to a U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee questionnaire, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Wednesday. Barack Obama’s nominee for attorney general

According to documents disclosed Tuesday to Congress as part of his nomination, Holder will receive a $2.5 million payment in 2009 from his law firm, Covington & Burling. This figure comes on top of the $2.1 million he earned from the firm in 2008.
Holder will also receive $1.3 million as a “separation payment” which will be paid “prior to or immediately following” his separation.
Holder also states that he has consulted the Office of Government Ethics and the Justice Department ethics officials to identify potential conflicts with his work at the firm and noted that should other conflicts arise he will consult the department’s ethics officials.
According to the disclosure records, Holder will remain vested in the firm’s benefits and retirement plans, but will no longer contribute any money.

In addition to interest on his retirement and other accounts, Holder disclosed that he earned $5,534 in dividends from Verizon stock in 2008. In total, according to disclosures, Holder’s net worth is $5.7 million.

Holder was an early supporter of Obama and one of his top advisors on the campaign trail, where he coordinated the vetting of the vice presidential pick.

Holder would be the first African American attorney general.

If any of the middle class or poor think that these rich a____ people will be looking out for you then think again. If the middle class or poor think that these rich a____people will not raise their taxes then think again…the democrats are known for big spenders and tax increases and yes even on the poor. When taxes are raised on food and other products its called backdoor taxes on the poor and middle class! Some of you voted for this and now you will have to live with your decision!

There’s not much you dislike as much as a black man making money, is there? A black man with money cannot be accused of being a welfare queen, eh?

  2. lukemcgook says:

High bureaucrats, lawyers, financiers — the new ruling class. Their wealth comes not from accomplishment, but from government connections. Parasites, essentially. If taxpayers were ever to unite, we’d never hear Holder’s name again.

  3. lukemcgook says:

kraut, why do you think ABC ran the story? Racists?

[ sauerkraut: There’s not much you dislike as much as a black man making money, is there? ]

Franklin, who was handpicked by President Clinton to head his Commission on Racial Relations, was one of the many star witnesses called to the stand to help Michigan’s law school defend what is effectively a two-track admission system. Analyses of the school’s admission data show that the relative odds of acceptance for black candidates, when averaged over six years, are 234.5 times better than those of whites with the same GPA and LSAT scores. This means that Michigan presumptively admits all but the worst black candidates and presumptively rejects all but the best white candidates.

Are Bushie and the Big Dick paupers? There isn’t a politician alive that hasn’t made a ton of money, before and after serving in office. For most, when they take a government job, it’s a drastic pay cut… at least temporarily.

“Some of us” didn’t vote for this, GTP. Significantly more than the majority of voters voted for Obama, almost 70 million in all. He had the largest margin of victory of a non-incuymbent in U.S. electoral history. So try to get past the idea that a handful of “us” foisted this upon the vast majority of “you” because it’s dead wrong.

goodtimepolitics: Keep talking about how great your God Obama is while you wait for his rating to drop like hot potatoes in a month or two! Did you know this? Hillary would have done much better then B. Hussein Obama!

Barack Obama won big on Election Day, but Hillary Clinton would have won bigger.

So says a review of exit poll data by CBS News, which noted that many voters were asked as they left the polls what they would have done if the match-up were between the Democratic Clinton and Republican Sen. John McCain.

The answer? Fifty-two percent said they would have backed the former First Lady, while 41% would have voted for McCain.

  6. lukemcgook says:

And, while we’re on the topic, I seriously doubt the Obama himself would have won that Ivy League entreé without benefit of affirmative action programs. I mean, the guy’s glib, but he’s basically an ignoramus.

  7. lukemcgook says:

“He had the largest margin of victory of a non-incuymbent [sic] in U.S. electoral history.”

di, you keep saying this, but 1) in percentage terms (all that matters), the alleged O-valanche is no landslide, and 2) who cares? Does it make him the right choice? Was “Bushie” the right choice last two go-rounds. Cut out this “we won because we won” crap.

  8. lukemcgook says:

“There isn’t a politician alive that hasn’t made a ton of money, before and after serving in office.”

Would this be true if government weren’t so intimately involved in our business affairs, I wonder. Wouldn’t it be nice if there were no need to buy politicians?

  9. goodtimepolitics says:

Nope, but I see it now. Thanks!

  10. diogenes says:

Yeah, Obama’s an ignoramus. I’m sure he graduated with honors from Harvard Law and was editor of the Law Review simply because of Affirmative Action.

I’d be willing to bet he’d run rings around all of us here when it comes to native intelligence.

The point is: Obama won big, guys. Minimize it all you want, but he didn’t win because a handful of Socialists voted for him. You wanna suggest Hillary would have won bigger, go ahead. (I would point out that Hillary didn’t actually have to run in the general election, so people got to “remember” the old Hillary, not the one who would have had to slide towards the middle the way Obama did in the general; that tends to depress anybody’s numbers.)

It’s not a matter of who would have done better; it’s a matter of who DID do better. Obama beat Hillary and then he beat McCain. End of story.

Are you guys really hellbent on grousing for four years? (Or, more likely, eight?) Can’t you do something more constructive with your time?

goodtimepolitics: B. Hussein Obama won because the blacks voted for color and not the issues! A high percentage of Americans didn’t even know his middle name. It will not be the same next election after they also find out that he is a wet behind the ear book worm that knows nothing about the working class Americans except what he has read in his books. Experience he does not have and experience counts more than book learning!

  11. diogenes says:

Is there a problem with his middle name, GTP? I don’t think so. Obama doesn’t think so. IN fact, he’s using his middle name when he gets sworn in as the 44th President of the United States on January 20, 2009. In 33 days, GTP.

Live with it, (deleted) Makes no nevermind to me!

goodtimepolitics: I have news for you, I don’t have to use his middle name to think he’s muslim and not a citizen of the USA. But people was called racist by Obama and his supporters when they have used Hussein during the campaign!

Obama’s Name Again Is Used in Attack
Before McCain and Palin took the stage, William Platt II, the head of the Lehigh County GOP, referred to Obama — not once, but twice — by his full name.

“The No. 1 most liberal senator in the United States of America was, you guessed it, the ambassador of change, Barack Hussein Obama,” Platt said as the crowd booed.
    Source: WSJ

And more news for you, I could care less what name he use, and I could care less about wet behind the ears baby O getting sworn in! I will not be watching! :)

  12. lukemcgook says:

“I’m sure he graduated with honors from Harvard Law and was editor of the Law Review simply because of Affirmative Action.”

HLR is a popularity contest. The edition published under Obama’s term is the least cited in HLR history. Fail.

Sure he graduated from Harvard Law, but so did Michelle. Ever see Michelle’s senior thesis? Embarrassing. Failed the bar first time, too. See, there’s “law school graduate,” and then there’s “black law school graduate,” with the second group having much higher failure rates on the bar exams. Affirmative action taints all black academic accomplishment now. Credentials are meaninful, if at all, only for whites and Asians.

Say, I wonder what O’s SAT scores were. di, you don’t happen to know where we could find his college transcripts, do you?

“The point is: Obama won big, guys.”

Like I said, who cares? He’s still a recipe for disaster.

“Are you guys really hellbent on grousing for four years?”

Well, sure. Should be fun. Face it, you’ve had a lot of fun with “Bushie and the Big Dick” for a while now. Our turn. And we’re right on the issues, which makes it even more fun.

  13. lukemcgook says:

Oh, is it OK now to mention the “Hussein” business? See, during the campaign, we were told it was bad form.

  14. goodtimepolitics says:

The campaign is over so now we won’t be called racist for using his muslim name B. Hussein Obama!

  15. diogenes says:

But he’s not a Muslim. Which is why your usage of his middle name really is meant as a racist comment. But you’ve shown that you’re not just a racial bigot. You’re a religious bigot, too. A doubleheader!

And luke, you are absolutely INSANE if you believe Harvard Law Review is nothing but a popularity contest. And it doesn’t address Obama’s graduating with honors (possibly high honors, I forget) or is that a popularity contest, too?

What were your grades in college, luke and GTP? What were your SAT scores? What did your transcripts in law school look like? Which Harvard class did you graduate with?

    Sorry, I couldn’t help myself!

    I’ll be serious now.

Did either of you ever get that GED?

goodtimepolitics: Maybe you should go back to school diogenes! First let me tell you that I finished high school while I was in the Airforce fighting for your freedom, that was after I was in the Army and before I started working for the Navy as a civilian! So take your stupid questions such as the one above and put it where the sun don’t shine if you can find the black hole! Now last warning stupid…the next time I have to delete a post of yours for name calling or stupid question as above will be the last time you post on this blog! Your choice! Thats the good part about owning your own blog, I can control you diogenes as B. Hussein Obama will soon! You act like a 10 year old!

And by the way Barack sister said all in their family was muslim! I think she know more about Barack than you do!

  16. diogenes says:

The only stupid question appears to be one that you don’t ask or you don’t care for. Good thing you got that HS diploma to fall back on.

You were in the Army, then the Air Force, and then worked for the Navy as a civilian? So, in fact, you’ve fed off the taxpayer dollar all your life? How sad! That is the problem with big government: all these unqualified people that live off the teat of the American taxpayer.

goodtimepolitics:Yes I fed off the military while protecting your a_s and where was you?

  17. lukemcgook says:

Well, give us a list of who can and can’t use the Leader’s middle name.

Say, do we actually *know* B(H)O graduated with honors from Harvard Law? I mean, he wasn’t a scholarship boy (ask Michelle about all the loans, the terrible loans), and he didn’t clerk, and I’ve never heard of any offers from big time firms. Doesn’t all that stuff follow on a stellar law school record like you claim for Obama?

  18. lukemcgook says:

Here’s a list of all the stuff Obama has refused to make public.

    http://tinyurl.com/3uhmh6

I have at least one quibble: there is evidently a law review note, unsigned, but probably authored by Obama.

Pretty sparse record. What do we know about this guy, even now, aside from his being a super-genius and a lightworker?

  19. lukemcgook says:

“That is the problem with big government: all these unqualified people that live off the teat of the American taxpayer.”

di, you’ve gotten to the point where a typical post is no more than a shrieking insult. Do not let this become your default mode. Try actual arguments, or at least confine your insults to Bushie and Big Dick.

  20. diogenes says:

Hey, if a guylike GTP makes all these arguments against “big government” while living off “big government”, it’s relevant. But thanks for your advice, luke.

goodtimepolitics: I would not consider serving my country during a time of war living off “big government diogenes, thats more than the B. Hussein Obama ever did for this country!

  21. lukemcgook says:

No, as a matter of fact, even if it were true, it wouldn’t be at all relevant. Whether an argument has merit depends not at all on who’s making the argument. You’re a teacher in the government schools, as I recall, but your arguments would still be drek, even if you did honest work.

  22. goodtimepolitics says:

Having a large military force is not what I would call big government, having a bunch of new government groups is building a bigger government along with more oversite groups looking over and owning part of the companies! I remember back when the government ran the airlines and what a mess they made out of that! Leave free enterprize alone I say and it will correct self over time! We don’t need socialist rulers telling us our every move!

  • Where I’m coming from!

As a person that's been around the country and seen what America was and now what she has became makes me sick. I keep up with the news and what's going on and try to state my opinion of the way I feel about the U.S. Government and the way it's dictating our every day personal lives. I'm not a conservative or am I a liberal, just call me a good American citizen that will vote for the person based on their past history. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the post I make.
