Lawmakers and Their Staff Invited for Open Bars, Free Food This Holiday Season.

One day after the U.S. officially acknowledged it was in a recession, it was party time in Washington for lawmakers and their staff, courtesy of the nation’s corporate lobbyists.

For weeks, invitations and event lists have been circulating on Capitol Hill, carrying promises of open bars and free food.

Defense contractors, energy companies and telecoms are all sponsoring parties this year, taking over restaurants and renting out museums in the expectation of crowds hundreds strong.

Our elected lawmakers are having a good old time at all their Holiday Parties while thousands of hard working tax payers are losing their jobs and no money to buy presents for their families. These rich congressmen are not worried about anything but self and don’t you forget that! Obama talked a good talk about having nothing to do with lobbyists while he and the other democrats are in bed with them. These congressmen are getting richer while the American people are suffering! Merry Christmas the Obama way, change you can count on! And change many of you voted for!

  2. Yeah, good point, GTP. Let’s just cancel all Crhistmas parties this year. They’re inappropriate. better yet, let’s just cancel Christmas and save all that money.

Of course, doing all this cancelling won’t help retail outlets, or restaurants, or waitresses/waiters, or chefs, or bartenders, or caterers, or farmers for that matter, or breweries, or distilleries, or or or or or

Make yourself a glass of eggnog and take a breath, willya?

  3. The U.S. government said the nation’s economy lost 533,000 non-farm jobs in month of November, as the global financial crisis and nearly year-long recession continued to force employers to shed jobs at an ever-quickening pace.

It is the biggest one-month job loss, in terms of raw numbers, since December of 1974.

The loss raised the nation’s unemployment rate to 6.7%, up from a revised October unemployment rate of 6.5%. The unemployment rate is the highest its been in about 15 years.

I see that you don’t get it diogenes, while your savior Barack and his pals are all out at their Holiday Parties enjoying their windfall profits there are 533,000 more hard working tax payers that has lost jobs in November alone. These 533,000 workers will not have the money to have these high class holiday parties and your Barack and his pals don’t care as long as they can. The least they could do is respect the tax payers and not be spending while there could be children that will not have such a good Christmas dinner this year because their dad and mother has no job or no money! Hope you have a rich and happy Holiday there diogenes and don’t let yourself feel sorry for the ones that can not afford one! Thats change you can count on from Obama!

  4. Don’t forget diogenes the name ” President Bush” of all things to forget diogenes its not the name “President Bush” now you’re starting to get that name drilled into that head of yours. Ok from there, President Bush isn’t the great “ONE” that has promised the American people heaven if they obey him and pays more taxes so that he can spend, spend and spend. Barck is no movie star diogenes, he is no more than a mixed bred!

  5. I think di is our explanation for Sarah Palin’s still being a media sensation. In a few more weeks, the Left won’t have a national figure to hate anymore, so they have to invent one fast.
