Obamas enjoy fine food, wine! Spreading The Wealth – Michelle Obama

Obama’s aversion to beets aside – “I always avoid eating them,” he says – the new first family are foodies with a wide-ranging palate. They have hankerings for Mexican food, enjoy hand-crafted pastas and their kids dig fried chicken and macaroni and cheese.
At Bayless’ restaurant, Obama and his wife, Michelle, usually begin their meals with tortilla soup and guacamole as starters, followed by something from a changing seasonal menu to reflect the freshest fare.
The Obamas aren’t teetotalers, partaking of the restaurant’s margaritas and wine.

This is the face of our next First Lady, who some really strange people let get put in our White House. Such a loving demeanor. Now, let’s not forget that the Pie she so eloquently spoke of didn’t come out of the 4 million that they made last year. What, they gave something like less than 5% to charity. Yet, they want to take much more than that from my paycheck to give someone who doesn’t necessarily deserve a larger piece. NO, NO, NO.

Greens Pave Way to Republican Comeback

If congressional Republicans — or what’s left of them — are looking for the path out of the political wilderness following last week’s electoral drubbing, there’s a shortcut to victory in 2010 being paved for them by the Greens.

Last weekend on Fox News Sunday, Barack Obama’s transition chief, John Podesta, said the Obama administration would act quickly to reverse a recent Bush administration move opening up public lands in Utah to oil and gas drilling. Podesta said that it was a “mistake” for the Bush administration to allow drilling “in some of the most sensitive, fragile lands in Utah…”

So, GOP, the battle lines are drawn. Since declining oil and gas prices are likely only temporary, we remain in an energy crisis. The problem could be solved by increasing domestic oil and gas production, but the Obama administration apparently aims to stand four-square against this.
Consider, for example, how much “fragile” environment would be disturbed by T. Boone Pickens’ plan to build the largest wind farm in the world on 400,000 acres in the Texas panhandle. While the Greens say they support Pickens’ effort, in what way is the Texas panhandle less fragile than the Utah desert?

All that stands between America and energy policy disaster in 2009 is the Republican minority in Congress. Averting that disaster and championing domestic production is the path to victory in 2010. If the Republican leadership needs help in getting its arms around the problem, a visit to Rep. Shadegg’s office would be a good start.

Maine Store’s Alleged Obama Assassination Pool Sparks National Outcry

The owner of a Maine store has sparked intense local and national outcry over a sign that invited customers to bet on a date when President-elect Barack Obama would be assassinated, but authorities say no charges are planned.

After the post-election incident in Standish, Maine, town officials were bombarded with angry e-mails from around the country. And on Friday, hundreds gathered at a “Rally Against Hate” in Rally Against Hate to denounce the racially charged sign and to appeal for unity, the Portland Press Herald reported.

Cumberland County Sheriff Mark Dion said Friday that Steve Collins, owner of Oak Hill General Store, denied any knowledge of the “Osama Obama Shotgun Pool” sign. The sheriff added that the sign was nowhere to be found when a deputy visited the store to investigate a report of it on Nov. 7.

Dion also said posting the sign would not necessarily constitute a threat or a terrorizing incident.
