HONOLULU (KHNL) – A memorial service for President-elect Obama’s grandmother, Madelyn Payne Dunham, will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu Friday.

The service, which is open to the public, will begin at 5:00 p.m. but the Obama family will not be in attendance.

Obama is letting his ego come before his grandmother who helped raise him in Honolulu and died two nights before the election.  There is no way that most Americans would not be at their grandmother’s memorial service if there was anyway possible! None of the Obama’s family will be there!

Should we have a National Obama Holiday for a man that could not make time to show his respect for his grandmother who help raise him? I don’t think so!

UPDATE: About 150 friends, former co-workers and others paid their respects Friday at a 45-minute ceremony at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu. Obama and his family did not attend.

Dunham was one of the first female vice presidents at the Bank of Hawaii. Former bank chairman Howard Stephenson says she trained most of the real estate professionals in Hawaii during her two-plus decades at the bank.

Dunham died Nov. 2, two days before Obama won the presidency. She and her late husband, Stanley, raised him from 1971 until he left Hawaii in 1979.

  • Where I’m coming from!

As a person that's been around the country and seen what America was and now what she has became makes me sick. I keep up with the news and what's going on and try to state my opinion of the way I feel about the U.S. Government and the way it's dictating our every day personal lives. I'm not a conservative or am I a liberal, just call me a good American citizen that will vote for the person based on their past history. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the post I make.
