Hamas says its officials met Obama aides before U.S. election & relations were maintained after Obama’s electoral victory last Tuesday.

During Obama’s campaign, he pledged that his administration would only hold talks with Hamas if it renounced terrorism, recognized Israel’s right to exist, and abided by past agreements.

How can the American people trust Barack Obama?

The Arab daily Al-Hayat on Tuesday quoted a senior Hamas official as saying that United States President-elect Barack Obama’s advisors met with members of the Palestinian militant group before the U.S. presidential election.

Ahmed Yusuf, a political advisor to Hamas’ Gaza leader Ismail Haniyeh, reportedly told the London-based paper that, “The connection was made via email and after that we met with them in Gaza.”

Al-Hayat reported that Yusuf also said the relations were maintained after Obama’s electoral victory last Tuesday. He said the president-elect’s advisors requested that the relations be kept secret so as not to aid his rival, Senator John McCain. SOURCE

Barack Obama seem to have lied to the American people while at the same time having contact with Hamas!

U.S. Senator Barack Obama on Wednesday criticized former U.S. President Jimmy Carter for meeting with leaders of the Islamic terrorist group Hamas as he tried to reassure Jewish voters that his presidential candidacy is not a threat to them or U.S. support for Israel.

“We must not negotiate with a terrorist group intent on Israel’s destruction,” Obama said.

“We should only sit down with Hamas if they renounce terrorism, recognize Israel’s right to exist, and abide by past agreements,” he added.

Obama has been working to reassure Jewish voters nervous about his candidacy in the wake of publicity about anti-Israel sentiments expressed by his pastor, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

Tell me just how could you the American people vote for a person that lied to you on every turn of this presidential election? How can our allies trust him if we the American people can not?

Obama-Google connection scares competitors (Conflict of interest?)

Obama’s transition team declined comment.

Some insiders, though, say Schmidt is inevitably identified with the company he leads. And they say that could benefit Google, not on the big decisions in Washington, but on the accumulation of smaller, less-visible matters. “A lot of decisions are made in the gray areas and at the low levels,’ explained the Democratic lobbyist.

“From the staff attorney all the way up the line, everybody now knows that Google is close to Obama,” the lobbyist said. And that could subtly affect the policy playing field in Google’s favor.

Beyond the perennial antitrust battles, Google has a host of other issues pending in Washington, from broadband access and net neutrality to privacy rights to patent reform and copyright policy.
And it hasn’t gone unnoticed in the lobbying community that Google has been quietly upping its participation in the Washington scene for nearly a year.

Not only was Google’s Schmidt on the campaign trail and on Obama’s economic advisory committee, but he also assumed the role of chairman of the influential New America Foundation early this year. Google didn’t donate money as a company, but Schmidt wrote a personal check of $1 million, single handedly financing a healthy portion of the foundation’s $12.9 million annual budget.

The New America Foundation, a nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy think tank, will clearly be at the center of the new administration’s thinking on economic issues: Schmidt and two other of its board members were among the 17 influential economic thinkers who stood behind Obama Friday.

“We’re looking forward to having more friends in the next administration,” said New America Foundation Vice President Rachel White. “But as an independent foundation, the chances are good that we’ll swim against the stream of some of the policies that the Obama administration puts forward.”

Anticipating the problems that can come from having prominent people with multiple agendas serving on the foundation’s board of directors, New America drew up a conflict of interest policy in June, saying, in part: “New America’s conflict of interest policy is not designed to eliminate or exclude relationships and activities that might create a duality of interest, but rather to encourage transparency and careful deliberation in those cases where conflicts or perceived conflicts may arise.”

Congressman Warns of Obama Dictatorship (A need to read people)

A Republican congressman from Georgia said Monday he fears that President-elect Obama will establish a Gestapo-like security force to impose a Marxist or fascist dictatorship.

“It may sound a bit crazy and off base, but the thing is, he’s the one who proposed this national security force,” Rep. Paul Broun said of Obama in an interview Monday with The Associated Press. “I’m just trying to bring attention to the fact that we may — may not, I hope not — but we may have a problem with that type of philosophy of radical socialism or Marxism.”

Broun cited a July speech by Obama that has circulated on the Internet in which the then-Democratic presidential candidate called for a civilian force to take some of the national security burden off the military.

“That’s exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany and it’s exactly what the Soviet Union did,” Broun said. “When he’s proposing to have a national security force that’s answering to him, that is as strong as the U.S. military, he’s showing me signs of being Marxist.”

Obama’s comments about a national security force came during a speech in Colorado about building a new civil service corps. Among other things, he called for expanding the nation’s foreign service and doubling the size of the Peace Corps “to renew our diplomacy.”

“We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set,” Obama said in July. “We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”

Broun said he also believes Obama likely will move to ban gun ownership if he does build a national police force.  As an Illinois state lawmaker, Obama supported a ban on semiautomatic weapons and tighter restrictions on firearms generally

I have been thinking all along why Obama wanted a civilian security force as large and as well equiped as our Military and on top of that he wants to ban guns from the American citizen! I sure hope our congressmen and women are awake with at least one eye open!  This is not funny people its serious!  Why would he need such a security force?
