While Obama galvanizes the press, Pelosi is galvanizing the gavel

Mr. Obama won’t be president for more than 70 days “from” now.

So while he galvanizes the press.

She’s galvanizing the gavel.

And swinging down on one ambitious rescue after another.

Another 25 billion bucks for the auto guys.

300 billion bucks ostensibly for the rest of us guys.

Part of another stimulus package.

Another round of mortgage relief.

Another swing at credit card relief.

A lot of relief.

But no relief in the staggering costs to pay for it all.

So is there a power fight going on between Pelosi and Obama?

Assassination fears surrounding Obama, codenamed “Renegade”

Assassination fears surrounding Obama, codenamed “Renegade” by his security on the campaign trail, mean that he may become the most heavily guarded president in history. After months of shaking hands with strangers, the President-elect delivered his victory speech from behind bulletproof glass in Chicago’s Grant Park.

Streets around his mock-Georgian mansion in enclave by the University of Chicago have been closed. The main thoroughfare has been shut down because it passes his yard.

Jihadi Leader Says Radicals Share Obama Victory

The leader of a jihadi group in Iraq argued Friday that the election of Barack Obama as president represented a victory for radical Islamic groups that had battled American forces since the invasion of Iraq.

Mr. Baghdadi also used his address to offer Mr. Obama an unlikely deal, one certain to do little to bring any resolution to the conflict between radical Islamic groups and the United States. He offered a truce of sorts in exchange for the removal of all forces from the region.

Faris bin Hizam, an expert on Al Qaeda, said the offer of a trade relationship had struck a new note. “How can he call for establishing a relationship with the United States if it withdraws?” Mr. Bin Hizam said. “The main principle of Al Qaeda prohibits any relation with infidels.”

Marwan Shehadeh, a Jordanian researcher and expert in radical Islamic groups, said that Al Qaeda leaders outside Iraq might balk at such a relationship, but that jihadis might view Mr. Obama’s election as an opportunity.

On the same day Mr. Baghdadi posted his statement, others chatted about the need to continue the fight against the United States. “All of them are low and dirty, and their hatred of Islam is the same,” one participant wrote. Of Mr. Obama, he wrote, “Even in his speech rejoicing his victory he said, ‘To those who fight us, we will defeat you.’ Let us see who will be victorious.”

This American thinks we are in for a long rough fight until President-elect Obama proves himself as a leader!  When making decisions his first one will have to be correct, he will not be able to take 3 times to come up with an answer and when that 3AM phone rings I hope he’s up to the task!
